Decided to try my hand at vampire romance for a writing competition (as you do). I suspect one of the many reasons I didn’t win was that I found it hard to take it too seriously. At least Worthing Flash (bless their hearts) got the joke. https://worthingflash.blogspot.com/2022/07/a-dollars-worth-of-destiny.html
Burning the midnight oil here (3.15 am)…and here comes the vampire!
I am laughing as did the Fates with that dollar😄 One moment of kindness, an eternity of regret!

Thanks, Spira. Vampires forget that karma is non-species-specific. 😉

Top drawer again Doug. The sad late surgeon who gets poor reward for his hard work though; Bitten by the hand that now bleeds him. (Also love that ‘reflection’ bit.)

No worries; it’s a genre ripe for the piss-taking.

Yah, you betcha. Gosh-darned good vamp story, but sorry he wound up a day late, a dollar short, and without the love of his life.
For a terrific vamp love story, try ‘Only Lovers Left Alive’ (2013) with Tilda Swinton and Tom Hiddleston. Clever, horrifyingly creepy, with a right mix of understated humor.

Thanks, Liz. Have seen that advertised and might take a peek, although as you can tell it’s mot really my genre. Still, always good to stretch yourself. 🙂
