I’m very pleased that One Wild Ride has published my piece on writing about older people and it’s accompanying flash fiction piece ‘Signing off’. https://one-wild-ride.com/2023/04/06/doug-jacquier-reflection-on-writing/

Thanks, Gypsie. I’d be interested to know what you thought of the piece and the accompanying story.

Liked the short essay, as well as the flash. Plain & simple truth and head’s up for what I’m observing now. Thanks for your clarity; my main question is “Is she safe?” Followed by “Is it time for me to leave & let her go back to sleep?”
Well done!

Thanks for taking the time to read and comment, Liz. I’m glad you could relate and all the best for you both in your situation.

Insightful and written well, without the so-called psycho-babble many authors and doctors use as explanations for behavior. In particular, I found this statement to be profound,
โRecognize that there is no such thing as โthe truthโ about any human being including you, so be humble.โ So very true. Well done Doug! ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ

Greatly appreciated, Gypsie. It’s a subject that requires plain speaking but most people just talk around it.
